Height 6-12 InchesWidth 12-18 InchesUse as a filler when using in containersReblooming groundcover!Growing Zones 9 - 11What a fun little full sun annual! Bright yellow zinnia-like flowers cover the creeping foliage, spreading out to share its bright sunny blooms with you. This zinnia wannabe is actually in the aster family. The procumbens portion of its name describes how the stems creep along the ground but do not take root. This habit creates a mound of foliage and flowers, effectively choking out weeds.Native to Mexico, Guatemala and the SW United States, Zone 9a through 11b, this bright yellow button-like flower is an annual in Zones 2-8. Set it out in full sun after the danger of the last frost has passed. It is a continuous bloomer, giving you months of color well into October in some warmer regions of the country. The leaves are a dark green which perfectly compliment the bright yellow flowers with yellow/green centers.Sunbini® Creeping Zinnia CareThis is truly an easy care annual. It does well in full sun to part shade, it spreads out to compete with most weeds that may invade, it needs a good loose, well draining soil that is amended with compost, and it needs just an occasional watering when it gets dry. It is heat tolerant, not flushing out of bloom during the hottest part of the summer. Fertilize once in the season for plants in your landscape and once every 3 to 4 week when potted in a container.Deadheading is not necessary due to its ability to tuck spent flowers to bed by producing so many new flowers they get covered up, but as with most flowering annuals, pinching back will encourage branching and increased flowering. This is not necessary, though, to have a great show of color.Sunbini® Creeping Zinnia SpacingSpacing is important with Sunbini Creeping Zinnia as it needs 12 to 14 inches of space between plantings to have enough room to spread out. Growing just 12 inches tall, it can spread out to 18 inches wide. Plant it as a foundation plant in large containers and it will spill out the sides creating a beautiful cascading display. It is generally not prone to insect infestation or plant diseases making this truly an easy care annual for your spring to summer garden.Sunbini® Creeping Zinnia Information USDA Hardiness Zones: 9-11 Flower Color(s): Yellow Bloom Period: Planting To Frost Foliage Color(s) Green Foliage Description: Dark Green Light Exposure: Partial Sun to Full Sun Height Class: Short Height: 6-12 Inches Spread: 12-18 Inches Spacing: 12-14 Inches Habit: Mounded Watering: Average Drought Tolerant: No Container Role: Filler Use Types: Border Plant, Combinations, Container, Hanging Baskets, Landscape Features: Continuous Bloom or Rebloomer, Low Maintenance, Deadheading Not Necessary Maintenance: Easy Scientific Name: Sanvitalia procumbens 'DSANTLAG' USPPAF, Can PBRAF Common Name: Sunbini® Creeping Zinnia Other Name(s): Mexican Creeping Zinnia Plant Type: Annual Brand: Proven Winners | Annuals > Zinnia Proven Winners SANSUP45
